Tom Gordon

Running for office is not something Tom takes lightly or without serious thought. It is that level of commitment that he offers to the community. He believes in not only service to our community as a whole, but helping our neighbors in any way possible. He has been involved in our community from scouting and earning the rank of Eagle Scout, to being on the boards of organizations including the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster, the Historical Society of Carroll County, and the Carroll County Land Trust. He is passionate about county agriculture since his family began farming in 1948. Tom also serves on the Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee which shares local business issues with the Maryland State Delegation. Additionally, he has donated numerous political memorabilia for the rededication of the Reagan Room in the Carroll County office building in 2017.

As County Commissioner for District 3, Tom has brought a thoughtful, steady approach to protecting the values that make our community strong—responsible government, support for local businesses, and preservation of Carroll County’s rural heritage.

A lifelong resident of the area, Tom understands the needs of local families, farmers, and small business owners because he is one himself. As a successful small business owner with deep roots in the community, he knows firsthand the importance of economic opportunity, fiscal responsibility, and common-sense leadership.
